Hi!This is Soumen.I am planning a trip to Kashmir in Apr,2012.
I have an itinerary:

1st Day:New Delhi-Srinagar-Yusmarg.N/H(By light and car)
2nd:Yusmarg-Gulmarg/Khilenmarg.N/H(What will be the distance?)
3rd:Gulmarg-Sonamarg.N/H(Distance?)
4th:Sonmarg-Srinagar(Mughal garden,ShankarAcharya temple)
5ht:Srinagar-Tulip garden,Ular lake,Manasbal,Khirbhavani.
6th:Srinagar-Pahelgaon
7th:Pahelgaon-Baisharan,Aru,Chandanwari
8th:Pahelgaon-Anantnag,Kokornag,Daksum
9th:Pahelgaon-Srinagar
10th:Srinagar-New Delhi

Is this too hectic a trip?I will be travelling with my family(parents,wife,3yr old child).
Can you please suggest.(I am completely into nature and can't afford to miss any place).
Also suggest some good affordable hotels at these places(Rs 800-1200max).
I am staying at-Yusmarg(1N),Gulmarg(1N),Sonmar g(1N),Srinagar(3N),Pahelgaon(3 N)

Dear sunnyji, We are two families consisting of Two adults and two children each..that makes four adults and four children (Children are aged 9,12,15,15). We are planning to come to Srinagar on 05/Oct/2011 (From Jammu) and will be reaching Srinagar till 12:00 noon of 08/10/2011. As u can see, we have only two nights and two days to explore Srinagar and around. One of the HB owner whom i have contacted for a two day trip around Srinagar including stay has quoted the following "Day 1 :- After reaching to houseboat Evening trip to Famous Mughal gardens. Day 2 :- Full day tour to Gulmarg ( meadow of flowers )1 ½ hour drive. world’s highest golf course. On the way you can visit apple orchids & paddy fields. In gulmarg People can enjoy horse rides & cable car ride. Day 3 :- Morning Shikara ride to Famous mosque hazratbal. Departure to airport. You are having the requirement of three rooms. The cost for the whole itinerary will be 24,600/= rupees. The cost is for three rooms on MAP basis which is dinner and breakfast and includes all accommodation, transportation, taxes etc The cost does not include cable car rides, Pony horse rides, drinks, entry fees, tips etc. The cost also does not pick up from Jammu." I have three questions: Is it worth visiting Srinagr for two and half a day ? Can we find snow around srinagar or gulmarg during first week of October? Is the price quoted for the package is right?
Dear, Try to call Dawn group of houseboats Mr Aksar 09906709714 and Ambassador houseboat 0194-2501569. In oct the season is low and you can get houseboats @1000 per room per day and the taxi fare for gulmarg must not be more than Rs 2000/- so its better to walk in and you can at least save upto 5000 bucks.
